Description:

• The incumbent will be responsible for setting and executing global strategy across the category portfolio, developing and deploying category and sub-category strategies maxising value in the supply chain.
• Support product development activities with subject matter expertise and understanding of global supply chain competence and capabilities
• Leadership in vendor selection and negotiation process ensuring best total cost of ownership value received from suppliers
• Capture and validate real savings. Measure and track performance within each spend category, define budgetary impact and track actual savings. Broadly communicate Category performance against performance metrics to interested stakeholders and groups
• Drive annual productivity improvements in each spend category - the Category Head will develop, champion, and ensure implementation of initiatives that will optimize total cost of ownership year-over-year for assigned spend categories according to group guidelines
• Monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance - Ensure strategies are implemented and TCO reductions secured according to implementation plans
• Drive best practices for assigned sourcing categories - Identify/define sourcing best-practices and work with key stakeholders to ensure that those best practices are widely adopted
• Remain current with market trends through relationships with vendors and market experts; identifying and communicating new technologies and solutions to key problems in the assigned category areas
