Dartmouth are partnering with a start-up boutique Venture Capital Fund who are offering a service unlike any of their competitors. With a leadership team unlike any other in the market, a portfolio already comprising of a unicorn and enviable capital already raised, the firm are poised to succeed.

As the CFO you will take a leadership role in all financial strategy, reporting and compliance. You would play a key influence in fund performance and offer insight into the portfolio from a commercial perspective. You will be responsible for building a high performing team and the firm scales and be responsible for building a best-in-class scalable finance function. In turn you will need to be a strong business partner who will offer and implement new analyses to improve key metrics and company strategy.

Overview of the CFO's responsibilities include:

Day to day management of the business' finances in an all-encompassing role covering strategy, commercial finance, management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT, budgeting and forecasting.

  • Support the front office on deals, providing key analysis to inform decision making.
  • Present key business information to the Partners on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for building a finance team as the firm continues to scale.
  • Developing the firm's 5-year plan including building budgets, forecasts and financial models to support commercial decision making.
  • Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met (FCA reporting).
  • Ownership of the annual audit process.
  • Production and monitoring of management accounts against budget and cash flow forecasting.
  • Ownership of any tax requirements including VAT returns.

The Candidate:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) (ACA preferred from a top 10 firm).
  • Demonstrated history of academic achievement and career development.
  • A hands-on and diligent approach.
  • Start-up approach, no task is too big or too small for you.
  • Ready and willing to get your hands dirty.
  • In it for the long haul - the firm is going somewhere, and you will be part of that journey.
