Financial Reporting Accountant
Our client is one of the largest B2B service providers in the UK. They provide both in-house and consultancy style services to blue chip clients. There has been an internal restructure in the Head Office and an upskilling of the senior management team in the finance function. In turn, we are seeking to recruit a new Financial Reporting Accountant for their largest division.
Whilst some of the challenges of the sector have been well documented, the business has brought in a new, high calibre senior management team and they are building a high class finance function. This includes ramping up the divisional finance teams, with focus on the largest division which is half of the Group’s revenue. The role we are recruiting sits in this division, and ensures that the business objectives and strategy are designed and delivered. You will support the divisional Financial Controller and Finance Manager in ensuring the monthly management accounts and other deliverables are submitted in line with divisional and Group timetables. You will complete data submissions into HFM including reconciliation of intercompany balances and clearance of validations as well as review Central costs, assist with forecasting and budgeting of these, and explaining variances. Ensuring robust financial control and governance is in place is key to this role, as well as making sure that they are aligned to the Group’s controls. You will create a programme of continuous improvement with the aim of delivering more efficient and cost-effective transactional processing for the division. Assisting in the preparation of monthly cash flow forecasts and supporting the Finance Business Partner teams to understand transactions and processes will also fall within the Financial Reporting Accountant’s remit.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/CA) that has trained in a top professional services’ firm’s Audit and/or Assurance team. You will then have some post-qualified experience in a Financial Accountant or Financial Reporting role in a listed business. An excellent academic profile is a requisite, and you will be highly numerate, with strong Excel and financial reporting systems capabilities. To be successful, you will need a high level of integrity with a commitment to embedding a strong governance culture. Experience of Hyperion and TM1 are essential. Ultimately, we are looking for personable finance professionals who are keen to challenge the status quo, drive for continuous improvement and implement change.
