Financial Controller – Working Capital Review

Partner Financial is working with a large complex organisation undergoing a major business wide transformation. They are currently embarking on a new strategy, transformation and restructure and this will have a positive impact on performance, expertise and customer focus. We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Director with proven expertise and knowledge of Working Capital management in large organisations.

You will be leading the Commercial Finance and wider Group Finance functions interaction with the team’s newly mandated Working Capital project and liaising with the Divisions to facilitate the progress of the review within required timescales. This is a high-profile project with key stakeholders at board-level and visibility from the Group CFO.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Commercial Finance team through the Transformation teams working capital review process;
• Support the Commercial Finance team through the Transformation teams working capital review process;
• Work closely with the Transformation team to develop and clarify the aims and objectives of the review, together with the required deliverables;
• Develop a project plan to clearly articulate the process of the working capital review;
• Oversee production of information to facilitate the review process in a timely manner;
• Assess the quality of working capital information reported by the Divisions and whether all non-working capital items e.g Capex, Restructuring and provision movements have been correctly analysed;
• Analyse and document current Divisional working capital procedures and provide recommendations for improvement where required;
• Build strong working relationships with the Divisional Finance teams and the Transformation project team;
• Undertake any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures;

The ideal candidate will be:

• Proven expertise reviewing working capital processes in a large complex organisation
• Proven expertise of delivering high profile projects and working in a project driven environment
• Significant post qualification experience as a financial controller / finance director in large complex organisations
• Knowledge of current regulations including IFRS, UK GAAP
• Big 4 or 10 Audit experience is desirable but not essential
• Strong financial, analytical, communication and project management skills;
• A Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA /CIMA/CA).
• Ability to forge successful & challenging relationships across the business
• Ability to influence at all levels of the business
