Civil Project Manager

Overview

Our client, a freight provider, is undertaking a significant change programme and are looking for a strong Project Manager to oversee multiple terminal gate constructions projects across the UK network.

Working as an integral member of the senior management team, the role will ensure projects are delivered to the highest standard.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Establish relationships with operations directors and terminal managers
• Managing contractors
• Accountable for health and safety of all individuals within the project environment
• Commercial responsibility for civils and gate installation
• Liaison with design and commercial teams
• Regular progress meetings with the portfolio team and contractors on site
• Controlling installation process
• Perform daily site risk assessment / Hazard Identification / Install mitigation measures
• Ensuring sufficient plans in place to ensure ‘Day to Day’ operations of terminals impact is significantly reduced and acceptable mitigation in place
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize own workload
• Ability to deal and work under own initiative
• Ability to travel nationally to support multiple terminal installations

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Qualified civil engineer

Preferred Skills:

• Extensive site project management experience
• Commercial experience
• Exceptional communication skills
• Experience of working on the client side of projects
• Desirable – Ports / Terminal Civils experience
