Achieving for Children was created by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in 2014, and since then has been commissioned to deliver children's services on behalf of both local authorities. In August 2017, the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead became a third owner of the company, and also commission our services.

They support our workers to undertake creative methods of intervention to ensure the voice of the child is at the centre of service development. Vulnerable children and families have a voice and their views will impact on how the service is shaped. Our staff are supported by an accountable and a professional management team. They are encouraged to work creatively, within the statutory framework.

The post-holder will work with services to ensure that the quality assurance processes they have in place are fit for purpose, this includes inspection readiness. They will lead some of the organisation's quality assurance processes, to ensure they are delivered to the highest professional standard, provide effective support through education, health, care assessment process, and deliver the best possible outcomes for them.

The post-holder will work alongside the SEN team, social care and health teams and other professionals to identify opportunities to improve the education, health, care assessment process, the quality of the final education health care plan and its impact on outcomes for children and young people. by providing independent scrutiny of practice and standards?.The post-holder will be responsible for producing regular quality assurance reports that pull together all our intelligence gathered through our quality assurance framework.

Job content is listed below:

1. Ensure there is a comprehensive SEND ?Quality Assurance framework which results in an effective learning and improvement cycle, with effective engagement of all practitioners and managers across education, health and social care

2. Ensure that the SEN service and all those who contribute to the local area SEND inspection is well prepared for inspection, including in producing self-evaluations.

3. Lead on the development of professional standards across SEND so that all teams are aware of their responsibilities and services are able to meet regulatory requirements, comply with statutory guidance, and learn from evidence-based interventions and innovative practice.

4. Champion best practice within the company, so that we learn from strong performance

5. Develop effective and representative meetings for education, health and social care colleagues to hear feedback on services and to gather information on the improvements or changes needed to improve processes and performance, ensuring that this is fed through into workforce development and is reported to managers at all levels in the organisation.

6. Escalate concerns about specific children or young people to the Associate Director for SEND(or an appropriate senior manager in SEN) where there are immediate safeguarding or placement concerns

7. Write quarterly reports for the SEND partnership Boards in each borough and for the LA SEND inspection monitoring and activity to outline quality assurance activity, findings and recommendations

8. Oversee all follow up activity from quality assurance activity through attendance at appropriate SEN Manager, PQI Board and wider partnership meetings

9. To work in partnership with the SEND Engagement Officer to evaluate feedback from recent activities involving families, children, young people and providers, so that key points are responded to, and ensure feedback effectively is used in a timely way to improve the quality of our performance

10. To take a lead on responding to complaints which implement in relation to local needs and services, advising partners and other stakeholders and to continually produce high quality services, providing a clear sense of direction and purpose in relation to Quality assurance .
