Job Details

The Head of New Business will be responsible for creating opportunity in a variety of different revenue streams. This will be achieved through a series of solution based sales to clients around the UK and beyond.

Client Details

Originally opened in the 60s, the group has undergone enormous change in the last 10 years. There has been an MBO and a merger, most recently where a big influx of cash from Asia has helped increase the scope of the brand and its offering; including taking their manufacturing and production to China. Since this happening there has been a renewed interest in driving sales from outside of their tradition client streams and into untapped areas. Based out of Maidstone, the group is keen to expand fairly rapidly throughout the UK and beyond.

Description

The Head of New Business will be a senior member of the team from day one. They will be expected to proactively go to market and look for innovative ways to sell their solutions to companies that don't fall into the current sectors already saturated by the group. Day to day expectations will include, but not be limited to:

  • Formulate an effective business development strategy that meets the capabilities and ambitions of the business
  • Deliver on the strategy by carrying out extensive business development activities through presentations, visits, demonstrations, cold and warm calling, and effective use of social media
  • Respond to request for information's, produce sales quotes and provide other internal sales capabilities
  • Negotiate pricing and anticipated delivery times with clients, providing feedback through the process post sales
  • Support the delivery of the product through manufacturing and completion providing clients with a single point of contact

Profile

In order to apply to the Head of New Business role candidates must be able to demonstrate the right spirit and drive to develop a business outside of the traditional channels of the group. Based anywhere in the South East, the expectation will be for the successful candidate to be out on the road meeting clients and pitching solutions every week. Other criteria we will be using to filter CVs include:

  • Significant experience in a new business development role
  • A background selling technical, engineering or manufacturing products is key.
  • Able to take sales from initial contact through to completion, anticipating pitfalls and issues before they happen
  • Have sold multi-faceted, technical solutions to a wide range of sectors
  • Be able to design and implement a sales strategy
  • Be passionate about being a part of the team to take the group to the next stage in its evolution

Job Offer

Dependent on experience, there is a base salary range of between £50,000 and £60,000. In addition they'll be extensive benefits including a car and healthcare.
