Job Details

This is a pivotal role in building on UK's largest residential property management company's residential property management market by driving rapid growth.  Working into the Director of Business development, marketing and Comms you will design and lead the process to build relationships and grow share of business from some of the UK’s leading residential investors, developers, and influencers. You will head and motivate a team of Business Development managers selling into Business and Consumer clients. This is a great opportunity to showcase and enhance your business growth skills while building innovative products and services in a company that is determined to be the leader in the sector.

Main responsibilities:

  1. Lead and develop a team of experienced business development specialists, working with existing clients (developers, landlords, RMCs) on bids and proposals for new business, as well as developing new Client relationships, further increasing market share.
  2. Target a wide range of current and prospective clients creating, professional, attractive and exciting proposals to manage their property management needs.
  3. Identify and unlock new business opportunities, developing external relationships to ensure the company is firmly placed as the property manager of choice.
  4. Deliver an Account Management process which enables the BD team to improve client relationships, increasing the invitation to tender rates and ultimately more new business.
  5. Play a key role in developing and cultivating client relationships in order to fully understand the challenges that prospective clients face, ensuring that the firm is well positioned to deliver the right solution
  6. Working with Residential Management Committees (RMCs) to ensure that the company is regarded as the leading property management company to meet their needs
  7. Working closely with other teams on new business development opportunities including white labelling, Build to Rent and consultancy
  8. Use external networks to increase client base and ensure that the company remains the property manager of choice for new and existing clients
  9. Ensure the business development team are high performers, setting and achieving stretching targets and meeting the business’ growth objectives
  10. Optimise performance by planning short, medium and long term client revenue streams.
  11. Create and maintain a suite of products to market to clients across all of our business areas (Property Services, Estates, Retirement, Luxury, Large & Complex, Build to Rent), with flexibility where necessary to meet clients’ needs
  12. Inspire and impact the culture of the business, actively adding value to both prospective clients and team members
  13. Working creatively, tenaciously and collaboratively to take opportunities from origination through to close
  14. Networking, hosting and entertaining clients, acting as an evangeliser and ambassador for the company and its product offerings
  15. As part of the senior leadership team, contribute to wider business projects and initiatives

Requirement:

  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent with a significant level of experience in a senior business development role, desirable to have IRPM or RICS Qualifications
  2. Ability to lead a high performing team and experience of delivering stretch growth targets
  3. An understanding of the property sector and a clear appreciation of the trends and opportunities within it
  4. Extensive knowledge of ITT, RFP and bid processes
  5. Proven track record of building and nurturing senior level relationships within a range of client organisations
  6. Able to quickly build effective working relationships at all levels, internally and externally
  7. Easily able to understand the challenges prospective clients face and articulate the    appropriate solution
  8.  A flair for thinking creatively and a desire to differentiate from the norms of the property  sector
  9. A passion for uncovering opportunities and converting into new business wins
  10. Excellent IT skills, social-media savvy and up to date with digital innovation and new    technology
  11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; competent presenter and a high level of attention to detail
