Ref: 1638002
Transform IT for Dstl.
Serve the entire country.
Become the unexpected.
At Dstl, we protect lives. We take innovative science and technology and use it to keep the country safe. As Head of IT, you'll take on a career-defining role within an organisation like no other. And you'll gain the credibility and experience to build a future in our sector.
IT is crucial to all we do, so this role is pivotal. You'll lead the transformation of our systems and set the IT agenda. We want you to develop the strategy and architecture for networks, IT and security so they're fit for the future and aligned with our broader plans. With your help, we'll become more efficient and reduce the risks from legacy systems.
The changes you make will have an impact for years to come. You'll oversee the procurement of a new IS supplier and shape our 250-strong IT function. It means you'll have the autonomy to implement your vision, but also responsibility for maintaining critical capabilities. It's vital that our S&T division continues to break new ground, so you'll be supporting innovation as you make the role your own.
An expert IT leader, you'll be used to transforming tech and setting strategic direction. And naturally, you'll have the technical background to improve and manage IT. This will give you the credibility to work with our many technical experts, as well as senior contacts including third-party suppliers. Experience in Defence & Security would certainly help, as would public sector knowledge.
This isn't just a chance to introduce modern, innovative IT. You'll make sure that Dstl has the capability to keep the country safe. Join us, and become the unexpected.
Open to UK nationals only. This job is not open to candidates who hold a dual nationality.
Closing Date: 28th July 2019
