To continue on their ambitious journey, to be industry leaders in the sector, they are now recruiting a Pension Manager is to ensure that a high-quality pension administration service is delivered on behalf of the Council to scheme members and participating employers. 

The Pension Manager will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the out-sourced pension administrator and ensuring that the Council is complying with the regulations and policies of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), and ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice.

Key responsibilities will include drafting and maintaining key statutory policy documents, frameworks and agreements; monitoring and reporting compliance with the regulatory framework and liaising with key external statutory entities. The post-holder will also be responsible for developing appropriate Key Performance Indicators and other measures to demonstrate service effectiveness, and regularly monitoring performance against these.

To be suitable for the role you need to be a customer focused pension’s professional, with extensive experience of delivering high quality pension administration services to scheme members and working with trustees, ideally in a LGPS environment.  Membership of the Pensions Management Institute (or equivalent) is an advantage. . Proven experience of establishing positive relationships with a range of stakeholders and the ability to influence and challenge are essential.
