Our South West based, Local Authority Client, is looking for an established Head of Business Intelligence.
The Client is creating a new Business Intelligence function to provide strategic capacity and capability to analyse and evaluate data and turn it into actionable business intelligence and insight.
The Business Intelligence Hub (BIH) will be key in gaining better insight into residents' needs and significant investment in technology and the right analytical and insight skills will ensure a more in-depth understanding and prediction of trends and demand so that we can plan for the future and drive transformation for our customers.
The Head of Business Intelligence will be responsible for establishing this new strategic data and performance service, working Senior Stakeholders across the Council to develop the Council's Business Intelligence programme.

Essential Skills / Experience
- Applied understanding and expertise in the technical issues across the professional service area
- Outstanding skills and demonstrable evidence of working with statistical information to provide insight and analysis relevant to a range of audiences.
- Strong understanding of Information Management functions, systems and processes.
- Proven business, people and change management experience in this area.
- Evidence of designing and delivering major culture change and transformation / improvement programmes.
- Leadership experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder and political environment with proven ability to inspire staff to deliver and perform to a high standard.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of the technology, systems, policy, practices, procedures and legislation within the business intelligence area.
- Proven up to date knowledge of best practice and innovation areas within insight and performance analytics.
- Excellent understanding of the implications of data management for Local Government and wider Public Service systems.
- Clear evidence based knowledge of applying technology solutions to a range of business application and providing improved outcomes.
- Experienced and knowledgeable programme manager demonstrating tangible delivery of programmes and initiatives across a range of organisation with an excellent understanding of programme and project management methodologies and systems.
- Excellent ICT skills including use of Microsoft applications and specialist business intelligence and analytical and reporting systems.
