Operations Director
Are you an experienced Operations Director looking to lead a £multi-million capital projects delivery business where you will spearhead the manufacturing, engineering, technical and projects department?

If so, we are once again recruiting for a client with whom we have forged a close relationship who are looking to recruit a hands-on Operations Director, with a proven track record in providing leadership to a multi-functional capital projects delivery team.

They are at the forefront of the design, manufacture, build, install and commissioning of large scale, fully integrated capital projects across several market sectors.

With the backing of a larger parent company generating circa £100m, this role will offer the suitable Operations Director the autonomy to drive the business to achieve EBITDA targets.

The role of Operations Director:

To manage a contracts capital projects business encompassing proposals, design, projects, manufacturing and installation
Full P&L control of a £multi-million capital projects business
Achieve targets related to EBITDA, cashflow, project delivery and turnover
Generate a reliable and consistent operating income. Improve reliability of cash flow on commercial projects
Monthly financial reporting to the Board of Directors on the status of the business
Provide structure, leadership, support and guidance to the senior leadership team
Ensure the business is organised and planned to complete end-to-end project management solutions
Improve and create robust project systemisation processes to ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time and profitable
Develop talent, enable succession within the business and a continuation of the apprenticeship scheme
Manage Health & Safety throughout the business and across all projects. Monitor and report on Health & Safety
Oversee the management of customer relationships and to play an active part in the negotiation of all capital projects
Lead and administer contract negotiations and to ensure the business operates within contract guidelines related to IMECHE, NEC3, JCT and MF/1
Ensure company systems, project processes and CRM systems are adhered to

The ideal Operations Director will have the following:

Experienced as an Operations Director, General Manager or related role
Proven track record in managing a capital projects delivery business, end-to-end project management solutions
Ideal industry backgrounds - rail, construction, water, utilities, road/transport or FMCG
Knowledge of IMECHE, NEC3, JCT and MF/1 contracts is highly desirable
Strong leadership and managerial experience of complex teams
A suitable engineering/technical qualification is preferred
Commercial, financial and technical acumen
