Our client is a leader in their sector, growing and in a strong position.

The Group is seeking to appoint an Assistant Finance Director to work with the business to provide strategic, financial and commercial intelligence to the Board. We are looking for an experienced finance professional who can be part of their senior leadership team and help drive this organisation. With further growth on the agenda now is the ideal time to join this exciting business and shape the next stage of your career. 

Reporting to the Board, you will have the opportunity to shape the financial reporting and management information processes and be actively encouraged to challenge the status-quo bringing fresh thinking and innovation. This is a hands-on role managing a small but dedicated team and as finance is a key business driver, you also will gain considerable exposure across all functional areas. 

You are likely to be a qualified Accountant with a broad experience. The client is open minded regarding your sector background, but some form of manufacturing is essential. However, of most importance will be your infectious enthusiasm and passion. You will also have excellent communication skills, a pragmatic and resilient style and the ability to motivate people and maintain high levels of engagement.

Candidates will have:

  • Proven track record in business partnering and relationship management with senior teams
  • Experience of preparing and presenting strategic financial papers and business cases to Boards
  • Confident communicator at all levels of organisation, both verbally and in writing

This is a high profile role and the successful candidate will need impact, presence and confidence to ensure personal and functional credibility across the Group. The ability to see the bigger picture, whilst holding attention to detail is required, together with excellent communication skills; previous sector experience is less important than strong analytical skills coupled with proven information arbitrage ability and a clear reporting style.
