With over 85 events across the UK each year, Built Environment Networking is the UK’s leading provider of networking conferences for the construction and property industry. We help UK businesses to thrive by enabling them to make new connections and reap the commercial benefits of being briefed on exciting and ambitious development opportunities whilst facilitating introductions to public and business leaders to help them win more work. This approach has enabled us to grow from a start-up in 2011 to our current market leading position and we have ambitious plans for further growth. Having already invested heavily in online marketing capability and associated core processes, we enjoy a position where approaching 90% of our sales come from online bookings and enquiries, but our ambition is now to grow this through additional direct sales activity.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role of Sales Director will act as a key catalyst for the delivery of our future sales growth. We are looking for an individual with direct very recent experience of (or an understanding and empathy for) the construction and built environment sectors who will be responsible for three key deliverables: further growing the number of attendees at our conferences and events, attracting new exhibitors and securing new sponsors for our already successful program of events. This role requires a highly credible and hands-on sales professional who will take direct responsibility and accountability for expanding the business’ reach into new contacts and organisations across our target sectors. Despite our market leading position, we are a small business with short lines of communication and swift decision making so you can expect a dynamic working environment where do things at pace. Additionally, your success will be easy to measure and so we are looking for an individual that is motivated by achieving and exceeding sales targets and developing new clients and key accounts. Although initially hands-on, the successful individual will be given full support in growing and developing the sales team with a clear expectation that achievement of sales targets in the first 12 months will be met with growth in the sales team to a point that is only limited by the ambition and talent of the Sales Director.
