Leading the procurement and supply chain turn-around of a manufacturer, re-engaging with the supply base, driving cost reductions as well as improvements across the supply chain team.
The business is a well established manufacturing business on the south coast that has struggled in recent years and recently went into administration. Having been bought out they are now looking to turn around all areas of the operation to return it to the profitable business it has been.
A manufacturer on the South Coast entering a business turn-around are looking for a, predominantly, procurement professional but with some supply chain and inventory knowledge to drive the procurement and supply chain turn-around on a minimum 6 month interim basis to review, recommend and execute the supplier turn around.
This person is going to be responsible for taking ownership for the procurement and supply chain turnaround. You will conduct a strategic review of the supply base, identify solutions to the situation and execute.
As the business has entered administration and been bought out there has been significant impact throughout the supply group and terms have been affected. You will drive relationships, cost reduction and negotiate improvements across the base.
The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering hands on improvement within turn around or difficult supply conditions within manufacturing.
You will have a background of reviewing the procurement function, identifying issues and solutions and then delivering achievements across both the procurement and supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
We need a professional used to working within a flexible environment, managing a small team and most importantly getting your hands dirty and engaging the suppliers directly to successfully negotiate terms.
The majority of the role will be focussed on the procurement however you will also manage the supply team and have a good working knowledge of inventory management, capacity planning and forecasting within a manufacturing environment.
