The RSC is looking for a qualified, highly experienced, Finance Director to join a fascinating industry in a role which gets to see the plans and activity in every area of the Company. You will be required to develop and deliver the Finance function for the charity group, which has multiple areas of business activity with constant and varied timelines. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will work closely on delivering optimal business performance.

The RSC is ambitious and complex. You will find yourself working with skilled and dedicated people in over 50 departments with an amazing range of thinking styles and views on the importance of business structures, and who are all committed to working towards a common cause. You will get where you need to through effective communication, relationship building and influential negotiation at every level and in every department. This role has three direct reports and overall responsibility for a great team.

In 2017/18 our total unrestricted income was £83 million, from a variety of sources, including ticket sales, commercial trading and fundraising alongside public funding. Our operations include a wide range of activity, such as manufacturing, catering and retail, as well as delivering world-class art and education. Using your technical expertise and relationship building skills, you will bring together charitable and commercial technical requirements and ensure that resilient finance and business arrangements are integrated with support for delivery of the charitable mission.

The ideal candidate will be ACA/CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting and tax skills applied in a complex organisation. This position requires someone with extensive experience in a finance role at managerial level, where you have managed all aspects of running a finance department and dealt with a range of activities, business structures, projects and partnership working arrangements. It is essential that you have knowledge and experience of applying the charities SORP and taxation in not for profit organisations. You must have a strong interest in people, the ability to form effective partnerships with stakeholders at all levels and an ability to get results through negotiation while maintaining high standards of professional integrity.

This is a full time, permanent position based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
