Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust combines acute, community and mental health services.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational clinical leader to join the team at a critical period for the trusts as they finalise their merger and continue to develop integrated care across Somerset. Like many others across the country, our health and care systems face major challenges. Services are increasingly stretched, with demand outstripping capacity in many areas and we have a growing and increasingly elderly population, which will have a rising requirement for care. As Chief Medical Officer you will work strategically with our partners (e.g. Somerset CCG, Yeovil District Hospital, Somerset County Council) to design and implement innovative changes to services as part of the Fit for My Future transformational programme.

You will be a key member of a supportive executive group and will lead a team of talented and dedicated clinicians. We are creating a new and unique organisation based on our shared values – outstanding care, listening and leading, working together – and our executive team is role modelling the creation of a progressive and positive culture supporting our colleagues to be the best that they can be.

We are looking for someone who will create a culture that encourages innovation and collaborative working across the new trust; empowering colleagues and motivating them to deliver outstanding integrated clinical services.
