Opportunity to join the senior leadership team of an innovative and growing manufacturer of site safety products.

Based in Oxfordshire

Competitive salary and benefits package

Ref: L10873

This key appointment is with an award-winning, privately-owned SME business with over 30 years trading history. The company is the leading UK manufacturer of an innovative range of site safety solutions, utilising expertise in plastic moulding technologies across composites, injection and compression moulding processes.

Our client has an excellent reputation for its design, product development and innovation capability and is recognised for its leadership in the use of recycled plastics in its product range. Widely distributed across a diverse customer base it serves sectors such as highways, construction, utilities and events where on-site safety and security are key customer requirements.
You will be expected to live within close proximity to the company’s UK location, a single 8-acre manufacturing site in rural Oxfordshire. It offers the successful candidate a very attractive lifestyle location from which you will support the needs of both the UK domestic market, as well international sales to over 30 countries, including significant growth plans for the USA and Europe.

Forming part of the Management Board and working closely with the Managing Director and Finance Director, the role carries responsibility for all aspects of manufacturing, quality, engineering, health and safety, supply chain and future capital investments across the business. Already successful, the challenge in this role is to take the business to higher levels of manufacturing excellence using world-class lean tools and techniques.  There will be a heavy emphasis in improving productivity and efficiency, minimising waste and ensuring that a right first-time culture operates throughout the company whilst at the same time ensuring that the highest standards of health and safety are maintained.

The successful candidate will most likely be a graduate qualified engineer whose formative career has been built in world-class manufacturing companies which have large elements of design-oriented specialist batch manufacturing. You will need to have developed your career further in SME’s and be very comfortable with the demands of such environments. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of injection and compression moulding processes and knowledge of composite materials would also be advantageous. Proven project management experience and a track record in implementing or developing ERP & MRP systems would also be beneficial. You will lead from the front and be a strong and effective people manager, demonstrating a hands on approach to delivering improvements in processes and operational performance, a key stakeholder in leading business transformation by focusing on the people dimension and being heavily involved in defining the investment strategy to facilitate growth.

This is an excellent opportunity to join this ambitious company on a long-term basis, you will personally develop and grow within a very collaborative and open leadership culture, whilst being a key stakeholder in driving sustainable growth in the UK and its rapidly expanding international markets.
