An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Planning, Transport & Licensing based in a Local Authority in North West London.

Post: Head of Planning, Transport & Licensing

Rate: £700 per day

6 month contract

We are looking for an experienced Head of Planning, Transport & Licensing to make a significant contribution to the regeneration of the borough through the strategic management of service provision to ensure that growth and regeneration in the borough is delivered in line with the Local Plan.

The main duties of the role are as followings;
  • Manage a Planning Service of around 59 officers, a Strategic Transport Service of around 7 officers and a Licensing Service of around 11 officers.
  • Work collegiately with colleagues on the Senior Management Team (SMT), and make a proactive contribution delivering departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of customer focused services in alignment with both corporate and departmental aims and priorities.
  • Provide leadership and management to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery; which will include managing the effective use of resources and staff.
  • Support the Operational Director in ensuring that the Department has clear strategic direction with coherence between its various functions and responsibilities, as established through service and team plans.
  • Builds and maintains effective services and relationships with a broad range of customers and the wider community, involving customer scrutiny as part of continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • RTPI accredited postgraduate degree
  • Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Eligible for Membership of RTPI or RICS (Planning & Development)
  • Strong Leadership and management skills including people, performance and budget Management
