A Finance Director position has just become available at a global philanthropic organisation, which has recently been spun out of it's parent organisation.

Reporting to the COO, this is a newly created hands-on Finance Director position based in London with a highly commercial element, in that you will act as business partner to the Senior Management Team and the wider business providing meaningful support and input into the commercial development and growth of the business.

Reporting to the COO, this is a newly created hands-on Finance Director position based in London with a highly commercial element, in that you will act as business partner to the Senior Management Team and the wider business providing meaningful support and input into the commercial development and growth of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Owning all finance responsibilities; including Financial Management, Treasury, Finance sign-off on investing process, etc.
  • Providing detailed and insightful monthly review of business performance and analysis of all commercial elements to support timely and informed decision making across the Senior Management Team
  • Enhancing and implementing a leading Management Information function across the business
  • Leading the annual collaborative budgeting process and monthly forecasting
  • Developing policies and processes to strengthen and implement robust internal controls
  • Other: owning global payroll requirements, domestic and foreign tax filings, annual group audit, etc.
  • Managing a direct report in the US; no direct management in the UK

Desired experience and skills:

  • A qualified accountant or overseas equivalent.
  • Understanding of international trade including intercompany transactions and transfer pricing
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; at all levels and across many cultures
  • Strong IT skills, always looking to new technologies to improve efficiencies
  • Prior experience and knowledge of FASB and IRS requirements for private foundations considered highly favorable.
  • Willing and able to adopt a hands on and 'no ego' approach in an ever changing and unstructured environment
  • Willing and able to travel
