My client, an insurance company based in London are looking to recruit a Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to join their team on a 6 month contract basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible but not limited to the below:

  • To lead the financial planning and forecasting processes.
  • To lead the consolidated KPI reporting and monitoring process, providing relevant and insightful challenge that adds value for the organisation. This includes reporting to key internal and external stakeholders on the consolidated view.
  • To work with the Executive team to create top down targets for Business Units and consolidate plans into a single business plan and a plan for each legal entity.
  • To lead the financial planning and analysis team, integrating people and processes into one, digitally enabled way of working.
  • To develop the capability of the financial planning and analysis team; leading, mentoring and professionally developing people, making best and highest use of talent, fostering a culture of collaboration and promoting and delivering the benefits of working collaboratively.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customer outcomes and a reduction in operational risk.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will need to possess the below in order to be considered for the role:

  • Strong track record of financial reporting and forecasting within a complex financial services business.
  • Life and pensions knowledge is essential.
  • A strong commercial mind-set.
  • Expert level knowledge of financial analysis and using it to add commercial value in a large organisation.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory and legislative frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence effectively with productive, successful relationships with demanding senior stakeholders.
