Chief Executive Officer
London (Holborn)
Circa £130,000 per annum
Join our client to work on some of the biggest issues facing healthcare and the work of anaesthetists - the largest single specialty group of doctors within UK hospitals.
They are committed to improving patients' safety, wellbeing and outcomes through the maintenance and advancement of standards in anaesthesia, critical care and pain medicine. Through their services, anaesthetists are well trained and supported, and they uphold a central role in the development and delivery of high quality healthcare across the UK, and increasingly internationally.
Anaesthetists have overall responsibility for patients' wellbeing before, during and after surgery and work across healthcare; in the operating theatre, A&E, critical care and obstetrics. 16% of all hospital consultants are anaesthetists and over two-thirds of hospital in-patients will see an anaesthetist. Our client supports over 22,000 members and fellows with the College and its associated Faculties of Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Medicine.
They are looking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership for the College, which operates as a charity with a linked trading arm, with a turnover of £14.7m per annum. Working with their president, board of trustees and Council you will lead the 100+ staff in creating and implementing the College's strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will provide exceptional leadership across the business to foster a positive working culture and deliver the College's vision. You will be responsible for overseeing business functions such as budget management, governance and strategic planning.
They would like to hear from you if you have significant leadership and senior management experience within a complex organisation, ideally a membership body, educational or healthcare environment. Educated to degree level (or equivalent) you will have an excellent working knowledge of budget management, governance, strategy delivery and operational management. A confident communicator, you will be a natural leader who is comfortable working across a complex network of stakeholders and interacting directly with their board.
