Head of Legal - (Solicitor or Barrister) - Permanent Opportunity, London

What is the role doing?

The position will have the title Head of Legal, you will manage and lead a high performing and effective Legal Team through collaborative working, effective performance management and learning opportunities. Acting as a key liaison between General Counsel and the Legal Team providing effective leadership and direction to the team through this exciting journey they are embarking on.

You will start by taking the team on a period of transition - the makeup of team (around ten FTE's) will change significantly over the first six months within the post. It will be one of your goals to transition this team effectively and ensure this Legal Team; individually and collectively; acts as a centre of excellence in the provision of legal advice across the board and its Directorates.

The role will be providing end-to-end support to the General Counsel in activities relating to Board, Executive Committee, supervisory and regulatory stakeholders.

What experience is required for this role?

  • On this occasion, it is vital that the successful candidate has a background as a solicitor or barrister
  • Must have a strong demonstrable background in managing people. (A team of at least 4 or 5)
  • As this company is currently going through a significant journey and this is a transformational time - culturally, we are looking for the type of person to role their sleeves up and get stuck in - with a smile on their face
