Head of Warehouse Operations

About the Role

Role Purpose:

• Managing three warehouses across Europe, in compliance with the company’s policies and vision
• Overseeing a zero tolerance, best in class Health & Safety environment
• Leading, managing and organising the teams, making best use of the relevant Site Managers, ensuring the warehouses are operating with optimal levels of efficiency
• Seeking continuous improvement for the performance of the warehouses, ensuring that the operations support the company’s customer and service led approach

Key Accountabilities:

• Strategically manage warehouses in compliance with company policies and vision
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
• Oversee the optimal layout and operating models across all sites make the best use of all space
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
• Adhere to all local warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
• Maintain exceptionally high standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
• Manage stock control and all inventory related matters
• Prepare annual budgets for each warehouse and manage costs on a continual basis
• Liaise directly with clients, suppliers and logistics partners as appropriate
• Oversee all activity related to recruitment, training, motivating and retention of staff
• Monitor and report on the quality of service provided, taking remedial action to address any shortcomings in procedural, operational or service related matters

Candidate Profile

Requirements:

• Proven success managing a similar ecommerce focused, multi-site operation in Europe
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
• Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
• Fluent in English and Dutch, with French and Spanish language skills being a key advantage

• First class leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate staff
• Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and effectively manage change
• The ability to engage and motivate a diverse team in a time-constrained environment
• Strong decision making and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver direction and motivation in an effective manner at all levels
• Ability to work under pressure, maintaining accuracy, whilst keeping to deadlines
• Ability to influence effectively and build constructive working relationships
