Head of Partnership Tax

Totum are currently working on a fantastic opportunity for a partnership tax specialist to take on a number one role in a tax team of a top 40 UK law firm. The Head of Partnership Tax role is a key member of the Finance team working closely with the CFO and Senior Management in relation to the tax affairs of the Firm and Partners. As the tax technical expert for the Finance department and the firm the Head of Partnership Tax will operate as the tax lead on the tax affairs of the firm, internal tax advisory business partner up to Board level and oversee the preparation of the Partner's personal tax returns. This is a fantastic chance for someone looking for that step up into a lead role within a leading UK law firm's partnership tax department.

The roles duties include managing the tax team, preparation of the Group's tax computations, calculation of the partnership tax reserving, ensuring compliance to any filing requirements across all jurisdictions the firm operates in are adhered to and overseeing the preparation and submission of Partners' tax returns in the UK and internationally. It will run the annual review of the firm's tax strategy, manage the relationship with external tax advisers and support the financial and wider management teams in any tax-related projects or issues as and when they arise. This could include investment decisions, international expansion plans and advising on where tax efficiencies could be derived.

Applicants should have a suitable accounting and / or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT, etc.) and have good knowledge of all UK tax matters including income tax, partnership tax and corporation tax. VAT and international tax experience including withholding tax issues should also be within applicant's skill-set. Previous experience of working in a Partnership environment and an excellent degree of versatile communication skills also need to be demonstrable.
