Millfield is one of the largest independent, co-educational day and boarding schools within the UK. Comprising a senior school located in Street, Somerset and a prep school in the neighbouring town of Glastonbury, together Millfield provides an all-round education to over 1,700 pupils aged 2 - 18.
Millfield School is currently seeking a Financial Controller to manage the finance function of Millfield School and Millfield Prep School, reporting into the schools’ Finance Director. As our Financial Controller, you will manage the finance team and be required to deputise for the Finance Director.
To be successful, you will need to be degree qualified and hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA or equivalent). Extensive experience of producing statutory and management accounts is required as well as experience of leading and managing finance teams and of adding value to organisations through high-quality financial support and analysis. Experience of charity/education accounting is desirable but not essential.
This role currently sits on the support staff Senior Leadership Team and as such excellent communication, judgement and decision-making skills are also vital.
This is a full-time role operating 52 weeks per year. This role comes with a benefits package including a competitive salary, six weeks’ holiday, and private medical insurance.
