Job Details
BIE are currently looking for a Head of Group Reporting to join an innovative property business based in Central London.
Reporting in to the Group Financial Controller this is an opportunity for an ACA Qualified Accountant with Significant PQE to join an inquisitive and Dynamic business.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing the financial statements and supporting the preparation of other elements of the AR&A (e.g. the CFO report). Managing the statutory accounts preparation, audit, filing, and tax return process
- Leading the process around technical judgements, including preparing position papers
- Supporting the preparation of Audit Committee papers and presenting elements to the AC
- Ensuring the balance sheet is reconciled and preparing balance sheet reports & analysis
- Business partnering, primarily with commercial finance teams
- Managing the accounting for acquisitions, disposals and valuation process and the related investment property reporting
- Working alongside our dedicated project resource to lead a range of projects and being a proponent of change within the team
- Involvement in a range of other ad-hoc activities and projects as they arise
- Other ongoing responsibilities include governmental returns, e.g. VAT & ONS returns
Requirements:
- The ability to see the wider picture, but detail oriented when required
- Good working knowledge of IFRS, with the ability to draw guidance from a range of standards in drawing a conclusion, and balanced with appropriate commercial acumen
- Clear and confident communicator who can represent finance credibly with senior stakeholders, explaining complex technical matters to non-financial professionals
- Ability to build effective relationships across the business
- Highly organised and ability to prioritise and manage a number of tasks simultaneously
- An ability to bring innovative ideas to a range of challenges and deliver projects
- A self starter and experience managing teams
Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with significant PQE and big-4 experience (preferred)
- Experience working within a group function of a listed PLC (or equivalent), preparing high quality group accounts and technical memos. We would also consider a seasoned professional from practice with demonstrable experience working with listed clients
- Experience leading teams and interacting with a range of stakeholders at a senior level
- Experience managing change
- Commercial property experience (preferred)
- Experience using an ERP (preferred)
