Financial Controller

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Financial Controller will be primarily responsible for the day to day management of the finance department and will assume all responsibility over the company accounts and future investments.

Financial Controller responsibilities:

• Developing new monthly and annual financial reports to identify results, trends and financial forecasts
• Leading and managing a finance team consisting of accountants and financial assistants
• Stringently managing cash flow whilst keeping working capital at optimum levels
• Enhancing and updating current accounting systems
• Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and filed in accordance with current regulations and legislation
• Delivering robust budgets and long range financial plans
• Continuously looking to add value whilst minimising costs
• Building sustainable relationships with third party advisers including auditors, HMRC and banks
• Liaising with and presenting strategic reports to senior executives and board members

The candidate:

• Qualified finance professional (Ideally ACA)
• Excellent academic record of achievement
• Demonstrable finance experience ideally from within complex, entrepreneurial sectors
• Strong technical finance ability across P&L, balance sheets and cash flows
• Outstanding communication skills both written and oral
• Critical thinker who is passionate about business and problem solving
• Emotionally intelligent and capable of influencing decision makers
• Highly conversant with IT and financial systems
