Our client is a specialist manufacturing SME, privately owned and established as a leader in the innovative design and manufacture of electric drive systems with exponential growth potential. It supplies customers worldwide in the truck, bus, utility and off road vehicle sectors.

25 years of technical development has resulted in the company having a range of proven world leading products for electric commercial vehicles. A combination of regulatory requirements and market appetite means that there is now an opportunity to bring zero emission commercial vehicles to the mainstream market. The company has a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities and expects exponential growth over the next 3 years. 

The business is vertically integrated, owns all of its IP and has a broad ranging supplier base. The manufactured products use a mix of mechanical, electrical, electronic and software component technologies.

The potential to deliver growth through effective organisation, leadership and higher levels of operational performance is clear. The newly appointed Managing Director will lead the team to increase manufacturing output, quality and customer satisfaction. A high calibre people leader, strong in manufacturing operations, engineering solutions and with technical capabilities is required. You will need to be an Engineer, ideally with an electrical or electronic bias. Of particular importance will be your demonstrated success in delivering growth in manufacturing output for complex engineered products.

You will be working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial business and will have the ability to bring the best out of your team and drive the business forward. The benefits package includes an attractive 6 figure base salary and there is a willingness to reward success in the long term. You will be expected to live in a reasonable commute of Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
