Franklin Bates is delighted to be representing a rapidly expanding energy company based in London.

Due to their rapid growth and evolving use of technology across the company, they are now seeking a CTO. This individual will lead the technology team to deliver new products to their customers and drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency within the business.

You will be making strategic decisions on how best to use technology in order to help achieve their company objectives. Currently the team consists of 10 analysts, engineers and designers, and the individual will also be responsible for managing the recruitment into the team to support the growth.

Your responsibilities...
  • Make strategic technology decisions, and able to communicate strategy to founders, company Board and Investors
  • Working closely with founders to develop and deliver technology and product roadmap for the next two to three years
  • Managing a team of data analysts, software developers, UX and marketing functions
  • Monthly performance reporting to company Board
  • Foster positive and "can-do" culture at all times
  • Ensure that career development plans are in place for the technical teams
  • Bring new ideas and initiatives to the business and help create culture of continuous improvement
  • Manage 3rd party software providers to improve integrations in a cost-effective manner
  • Ensure that system architecture and infrastructure is appropriate for both current and future growth
  • Establish software development life cycle process and ensure that best practices are followed

What you will need...
  • Prior experience as either a CTO or Head of technology role within a fast growth environment
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the software development life cycle, best practices and agile software development
  • Proven leadership of a technical team, along with hiring and retaining top talent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in a B2C development environment
