Our client is the UK division of one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of a niche range of capital equipment. With manufacturing sites across Europe and a global distribution network the group has an excellent reputation for supplying, installing and servicing their high quality electro-mechanical products.
The UK business’s customers are as likely to lease or contract-hire their equipment as they are to buy them out-right, so it also offers a full in-house maintenance and repair service. They deliver market-leading service across the UK with a service team of over 45 staff and a network of over 30 highly qualified, directly employed, engineers. The UK represents a huge opportunity for our client to build on their excellent reputation and grow market share. Operating in a lucrative sector with a small number of competitors, they have a more complete product range than others, offering a “one-stop shop”.
The Sales Director role is a newly created position and will play a critical role in ensuring the continuing growth and success of the business. Working within the Executive Team to set the strategy for success, you will bring significant experience, drive and determination to the role. You will inherit a skilled and loyal team with extensive experience, whilst you will have the opportunity to shape it, putting in the fundamental structures and processes needed to make it best in class. This is a hands-on position and we are looking for someone that is prepared to lead by example as well as coaching and supporting the rest of the team. You will be an effective change agent who is able to drive necessary changes through the company whilst keeping the confidence, commitment and motivation of the sales team and their customers.
As Sales Director you will also have responsibility for all marketing activities and staff. You will need to oversee and guide their marketing and publicity programmes with the support of the Global Marketing Committee.
You will need to have a proven track record in selling capital equipment through direct sales and distribution agreements. Experience of selling rental and financed deals is essential. You will need to understand how to manage dealer networks and be able to create a strategy to grow the dealer network and manage these relationships effectively. You will lead by example, acting as an ambassador for the company at exhibitions, corporate events and at their Head Office as part of the Global Sales Community.
