Director of Communications and Business Services
Help Musicians UK
London
Competitive salary

For almost 100 years, Help Musicians has been providing help, support and opportunities to empower musicians at all stages of their lives. We are an independent charity which aims to make a meaningful difference to the lives of musicians, offering an integrated programme combining Health and Welfare support and Creative development. We are passionate about creating a world where musicians thrive.

Specifically, we help professionals to develop their talent in order to sustain their professional career. We help existing professionals who hit a crisis in their lives which can have a devastating effect on their career and families. We help with long-term or terminal illness and we help musicians in retirement and those needing special help as they grow older.

The charity works in partnership to create a sustainable future for all musicians and the industry, supporting those who work in the music industry through health and welfare services, campaigning, creative programmes and targeted investment initiatives.

The last few years have seen tremendous growth for the charity: in 2016 we introduced an ambitious five-year strategy leading up to our centenary, Agenda 2021, which outlines how we can extend our reach and support to musicians across the UK.

We are looking for an inspirational senior leader with experience of leading a broad-ranging directorate including senior experience in developing communications, PR and digital strategy, an understanding of marketing strategy to grow income and build profile, experience of overseeing or delivering all standard HR processes, leading major IT transformation projects and knowledge of event planning, marketing and execution.

The ideal candidate will be highly numerate, proactive and self-motivated with strong organisational and planning skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to build rapport and establish professional relationships based on trust and understanding and a genuine interest in and commitment to Help Musicians services.
