We are seeking to appoint a highly commercial CFO to an autonomous, £60m t/o operating company within a FTSE 250 Group. The business provides an integrated range of innovative services and solutions to a diverse and international client base and is enjoying rapid growth. Commercially partnering with the President of the business, the CFO will play a key role in delivering the ambitious growth agenda and driving the financial performance of the business with the aim of delivering revenues of c£250m t/o within five years through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth.

Responsibilities for the CFO will include:

  • As a member of the Executive team, driving top line growth and operating margin enhancement to optimise financial performance in line with the strategic plan
  • Mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and subsequent integration into the Group
  • Playing a key role in the development of the strategic plan; ensuring that business targets are developed and embedded in the financials, and that monthly reporting is linked into the annual budget and longer-term strategic planning process
  • Managing the financial performance against the strategic plan, and ensuring key action plans are measured, reviewed and acted upon
  • Developing the sales forecasting processes ensuring business leaders use the plans as a key performance improvement tool. Identifying risk factors and assessing opportunities to mitigate the impact on profit
  • Driving operating margin enhancement and capacity improvement plans through the provision of effective MI, ensuring management understand where performance can be maximised
  • Managing the Capex process so that business justifications are robust, embedded into business performance plans and reviewed post completion where appropriate
  • Maximising working capital performance
  • Developing and mentoring the finance function to ensure that the finance teams are aligned with the business leaders to deliver best in class outcomes, as well as aligned with Group to deliver on Group reporting requirements
  • Supporting business excellence initiatives including business transformation and special projects to achieve a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Ensure the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all of the Company’s financial affairs

The successful candidate will have experience within a plc environment but will most critically be a commercially orientated CFO with the ambition and drive to play a key role in delivering the business’ ambitious growth agenda. The individual will be extremely high calibre, with the potential to develop into other senior leadership roles across the Group.
