Purpose Statement:

The role is responsible for providing program leadership for the Supply Network Operations (SNO) Planning team supporting Europe and North African countries (ENA). This involves accountability for all activities: Materials planning, production planning, inventory management, etc., providing technical leadership and advice to senior stakeholders in the business, drive technical alignment and handover between the SNO team and the Factory Operations Manufacturing teams.

Principal Accountabilities:

The successful candidate in this role, together with the team reporting to this position will have the following accountabilities:
  • Own and implement the finished and semi-finished goods sourcing strategy for all ENA commercial markets and the source change process for all products sourced from ENA Factories.
  • Balance supply and demand across the supply network optimising the use and deployment of manufacturing assets to ensure lowest overall total supply cost, whilst protecting the business from unexpected surges in demand and / or factory / network breakdown.
  • Respond to real demand variations in the tactical and strategic horizon and through collaboration with End Market and Service Center teams make balanced and commercially driven supply decisions in support of Company strategy.
  • Responsible for the short, mid and long term supply capability and manufacturing capacity is in place to meet the commercial cycle plans
  • Develop, drive and execute WMs strategy and materials planning processes for Supply Network Hub for smooth operation of all the factories within ENA, ensuring that strong relationships are established, developed and maintained with Regional /Global procurement as well as with major suppliers to achieve the business objectives.
  • Ensure WMS Stock Holding Policy across all commodities is implemented, constantly revised and improved in order to drive continuous Working Capital optimization for ENA Operations, while improving availability On Time In Full.
  • Responsible for defining the most appropriate business model, by supplier and by commodity,
  • Accountable for the development and deployment of Plan capability in line with the Target Operating Model and ongoing supply chain development in line with business needs.
  • Accountable for performance of Plan function to deliver against regional and global performance standards and the commercial requirements of the business.
  • Manage the development of the operational supply chain planning process in line with the Commercial development, assessing the applicability of best practice supply planning process and IT tool developments within the FMCG and other industry segments.
  • Responsible for the day to day management and operation of the Plan function in the ENA Supply network operations team, in Southampton.
  • Drive and monitor compliance to planning processes and key controls across the supply chain.
  • Continuously foster optimization of the Plan and Master Data processes on a Regional level and their alignment to the Global processes and models
  • Ensure end-to-end ownership and management of WMS supply for ENA Operations is in place and at high professional level
  • Identify, analyse and develop options to resolve issues and exceptions across the supply processes.
  • Track and report supply chain planning performance metrics and recommend improvement opportunities and actions.
  • Review, recommend and implement improvements to existing supply chain planning process and practice.
  • Owner of the Manufacturing contingency sourcing plan in line with the Global contingency sourcing plans. Ensure annual review and update.
  • Owner of the Operations SOP process.

Essential requirements:
  • FMCG background.
  • Experience of implementing supply chain planning, scheduling and ERP systems; specific knowledge on SAP and/ or APO is needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Engineering or Science.
  • Expert level knowledge in Supply Chain management and supply planning processes.
  • In depth knowledge of Supply Chain models, the characteristics of each and their application to meet required service level and business objectives by customer segment/channel.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence the strategic development of the business
  • Business focused and proven change agent with project management experience (preferably in a Prince II environment).
  • People management experience.
