Interim Head of Transactional Services
Based in London
Length: 3-6 months initially

A local authority in London is recruiting for a Head of Transactional Services who will be responsible for strategically managing, delivering and directing People Transactional Services including, Pensions Administration, Recruitment and administration services, Resourcing needs, Payroll, Employee compliance, including DBS, Right to Work, Registration and general compliance checking

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and advice to senior management
  • Promote a business culture seeking innovation and growth and increased income
  • Identify and deliver innovative savings solutions from implementing and improving services in two councils
  • Exploit and maximise use of IT systems (e.g. Oracle, Talent Link) to reduce duplication and eliminate waste to increase efficiencies in service delivery.
  • Lead, direct and manage an efficient and effective Pensions Administration service through multiple solutions
  • Provide overall management and leadership of the HR, Recruitment, Payroll and Pensions Administration Transactional Services team including formal and informal performance management, allocation of resources, motivation and support and identification of training or development needs, within an environment of transformation and changing and conflicting priorities.
  • Responsible for managing budgets in excess of £5m and up to 100 employees
  • Work closely with the Director of Exchequer & Transactional Services, taking responsibility on the overall development of the service ensuring effective and efficient service delivery.

Key Skills:
  • Ability to develop and sustain partnerships
  • Experience in HR Transformation environments
  • Previous experience working as a head of Service within HR
  • Proven ability to work fluidly in ambiguous circumstances
  • Demonstrate an analytical and strategic approach in previous roles
