Finance Director & Company Secretary

DragonPSR is currently recruiting a Finance Director and Company Secretary on behalf of Beard, an award winning, high performing, top regional construction company. 

The role will partner Divisional Directors and senior managers on commercial issues and provide the Chairman with assurances that key financial issues are dealt with in a prompt and thorough manner. The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality financial information which facilitates business decisions, ensuring compliance with all statutory reporting requirements and that the management reports are produced on a timely basis. The role will evolve over time to oversee the Business Systems, QA, Services Team, Procurement, HR and training and communications teams.

Applicants will be formally qualified with a proven track record at Financial Controller level or above in a privately owned business. Sector experience in construction, engineering, services or a B to B environment which has involved the concept of WIP would be advantageous. This is an operational finance role and applicants should be outstanding in this area of their career with an evident capability of adding value. You will operate with a high level of integrity coupled with a commitment to strong governance. 

Demonstrable personal attributes will embody the Beard values and include a strong financial acumen coupled with the ability to see the wider picture. Exceptional leadership and people skills are sought, with the ability to achieve successful outcomes through teams and coach staff in financial and commercial issues. Underpinning these traits will be a broad knowledge of financial, HR, systems, commercial, secretarial and contractual issues. 

This is a challenging and high-profile role which will demand the need for a hands-on, technically strong, finance professional who also possesses the intellect, emotional intelligence and credibility to develop long term business objectives within a prominent business who continue to go from strength to strength.
