Operations Director - Freight Management

We currently have an opportunity for a change orientated, people led and forward-thinking Operations Director with exceptional leadership capability to join our UK based Freight Management team. Based in either Ashby de la Zouch (Head Office), Leicestershire or Heathrow and reporting into the Managing Director - Freight Management you will take accountability for driving change, operational excellence, resource optimisation and operational compliance across 13 locations throughout the UK, Ireland and the Nordics.
This is a newly created and high profile role which will be pivtol in providing directional leadership for the overall strategy across all lines of business (Air, Ocean and Ground), this will include clear accountability for growth across both new and existing sectors and full ownership of a significant P&L. Of course, it goes without saying that you will also be an engaging and empowering individual who is able to provide clarity and direction to multiple teams across multiple locations through effective coaching, mentoring and leadership.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong commercial background gained at senior leadership level within the Freight Forwarding or 3PL arena. With experience of leading multiple teams across multiple locations, you will be a natural change agent constantly striving for change and improvement with a proven track record of managing large-scale implementations, and optimisation activity. Financial control and substantial experience of producing, managing and planning budgets along with the ability to create, define and execute strategy are also essential requirements for this role.
