Role title: Chief Financial Officer

About the role

In this role you will lead our Finance function and so be responsible for all financial, tax, treasury and commercial aspects of Arval UK. You will also lead the procurement team.

Through your leadership and direction, the finance teams will develop, implement and maintain reliable accounting/ pricing controls, insightful and succinct reporting, and great business relationships so they impact positively on business performance and support decision making. In addition, you will guarantee the financial integrity of Arval UK and ensure we continue to comply with all regulations, both Group and local, through proper management, control and support and financial reporting.

Lastly, we will look to you to drive a culture of continuous improvement through your teams that not only improves their efficiency but strives to really add value in a true business partnering sense across other business areas. You will take over a complex team that has interesting dynamics making this is a highly challenging role that requires an agile but focused approach.

About you

Our Finance function has seen a lot of positive change over the last couple of years and your brief will be to help raise the bar to the next level.

The successful candidate will be experienced in a similar leadership post and will certainly have a robust accounting and FP&A background. We need a realist with a safe pair of hands who has a keen eye for the detail and isn't afraid to give the facts and ‘tell it how it is' whilst also having the soft skills to build credible relationships quickly, work collaboratively and negotiate through the necessary challenges typified at this level.

Importantly, we need someone with vision who will continue to drive the function forward from the current approach and tools used today. You will continue to reposition Finance as a customer focused service provider by mobilizing the team and bringing it to life so that it really delivers value to the business, providing what it wants such as trends and analysis and not just the numbers. We will also look to you to be progressive and bring in new technologies and tools such as robotics process automation (RPA).

You may have leasing or automotive experience but we will seriously consider someone from other industry sectors. We are particularly interested in someone who has driven change through teams, implemented efficiencies and new tools and is a proven people champion who can evidence developing team members to maximise their individual potential and so future proof our business.
