The Role

We are looking for a Interim Director Software Engineering for the Drive department in Amsterdam. The main focus for this department is the Consumer market. The director will have 4 teams underneath him who are responsible for Product development for B2C and B2B. Mainly navigation devices. The teams use Embedded S/W development, C, C++, Java, Android. Product development (HW/SW).

The main responsibility for this position is that the person manages medium-to-large-sized engineering teams; adapts department plans and priorities to meet short-term service and/or operational objectives

Who are we looking for someone with 10+ years' experience with software product creation, 3-5 years in leadership role:

Crisis manager who is used to audit teams and processes, comes with recommendations for improvement and implements the recommended improvements.
Change management
Manages professional employees and/or supervisors
Has full management authority and accountability for the performance and end results of teams within own area of specialty
Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from manager for only the most complex situations
Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
