Implementation Director - Pensions Dashboard Industry Delivery Group (Single Financial Guidance Body)

The Single Financial Guidance Body (SFGB) is a new organisation that brings together, for the first time; debt advice, money guidance and pensions guidance in one place.

The SFGB vision is for "Everyone making the most of their money and pensions". The ability to manage money is central to people's health and wellbeing, it impacts their ability to fulfil their potential, and to care for their families. A population that can manage their money and pensions well is vital for our economy and for society as a whole.

As Implementation Director of the SFGB's Pensions Dashboard Industry Delivery Group (IDG) you will help lead a programme which can transform the way everyone in the UK plans their retirement.

This role's appointment is contingent on the event that the Government approves the SFGB as the delivery organisation for the Pensions Dashboard.

About the Role

The pensions dashboard will be a new service designed to allow people to view all their pension information in a single place online, in a clear and simple format - making managing pensions much easier.

This is a hugely significant development within the pensions industry and has the potential to have a positive impact on the retirement income and lifestyle of millions of people. Development work by the Industry has already taken place, as a concept. The goal is now to turn it into a real delivery solution for the benefit of UK citizens.

Industry has had, and will continue to have, a crucial role to play in designing and developing dashboards and the digital architecture and ecosystem governance framework. A proposed Pensions Dashboard Industry Delivery Group (IDG) would facilitate implementation of the technology, safeguards, standards etc that will enable commercial and non-commercial dashboards to operate - the "The Pensions Dashboard".

This IDG is likely to be comprised of an Industry Steering Group, led by the part-time Principal, and a small supporting full time Implementation Executive team, held within the SFGB, for the digital architecture and ecosystem governance framework.

As Implementation Director you will sit on the IDG and report into the Principal as the lead Implementation Executive of the IDG for the digital architecture and ecosystem governance framework. This is an important and demanding role, with day to day responsibility for the delivery of the dashboard digital architecture and ecosystem governance framework, its stakeholder engagement, IT infrastructure, data standards, etc.

You will be key to proposing the Business Plan and then executing it once agreed for the digital architecture and ecosystem governance framework. This will include devising the business plan, its deliverables, IT infrastructure, data standards, timelines etc. The Principal of the IDG will report into the SFGB scrutiny Board Sub-Committee (you will also attend this SFGB Board sub-committee), where the Business Case must be approved, in concert with the Department.

Your day to day responsibility will be to ensure the operational performance and efficiency of the Implementation Executive re the digital architecture and ecosystem governance framework, as well as working closely with the SFGB CEO/Accounting Officer and SFGB Digital/IT/Marketing Director to make sure the linkages between the digital architecture and ecosystem governance framework and a SFGB non-commercial dashboard are appropriate.

You will define and document project scope goals and deliverables, work with, and report to the IDG Principal to develop options and solutions and ensure the project is properly resourced and managed for the digital architecture and ecosystem governance framework and faithful to the agreed Business Plan.

About You

As the Implementation Director, you will be a creative and efficient problem solver with an established track record of leading digital change teams and making decisions at a senior level. You will need a good knowledge of project and programme methodologies as well as a strong demonstration of strategic planning or performance monitoring.

You will also be determined and focussed with an ability to motivate a team in a complex environment and have a good grasp of IT change programmes and both stakeholder and programme management, to time, to budget and to achieve agreed deliverables.
