Job Details

Following a restructure we are delighted to be supporting RG Carter in the recruitment of a Head of HR and also this newly created position of Head of Finance. The position reports to, and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer. You will provide leadership support, pro-active advice and suggestions to the CFO in order to maximise the financial success of the Group.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage the Group finance department with clear sight of the financial objectives of the organisation. You will implement and deliver financial strategy, overseeing and coordinating the internal accounting, external reporting, tax and treasury aspects to finance.

Key Deliverables:

  • Manage a team across accounting, tax, and treasury providing leadership and coaching to deliver outstanding service
  • Responsible for the provision of timely Group reporting and consolidation
  • Prepare draft financial board reporting, including written commentary
  • Management of the Group planning processes (annual budget and regular forecasting)
  • Continuous review and development of financial policies and processes to ensure they are robust and the business is compliant
  • Take responsibility for the group's internal control environment and compliance
  • Responsible for CoSec administration

Ongoing Responsibilities:

  • Undertake analysis of new initiatives and projects to ensure appropriate return on investment, providing insight into key business decisions
  • Manage business systems including QA (non financial internal audit), ISO accreditations
  • Identify new developments affecting finance and business systems to implement required changes to policy or process
  • Support in any acquisitions/disposals and integration
  • Support in the implementation of COINS

Skills and Rxperience:

  • Construction experience preferred, but not essential
  • Qualified accountant with a background in audit
  • Experience of Group reporting essential and exposure to tax and treasury desirable
  • Action orientated, problem solver, project management skills and ability to deliver at a pace
  • Outstanding communicator and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proven track record leading and developing teams
  • Strong team player
  • Can evidence improvements across policies, processes and systems
  • Has a passion for best in class reporting and governance
  • Strong IT skills
