Establish, lead, operate and grow a Significant Services and Facilities Management Start-up
New Role for a Proven Service Provision Business Leader from either the Public or Private sectors
Following a major review of public service provision across this mixed urban and rural Local Authority, the strategic decision has been taken to establish a new company which will take over responsibility for the delivery of a full range of public services, many of which are currently outsourced, covering essential services such as refuse collection, street cleaning, grounds maintenance, office maintenance, cleaning services and transport provision. Reporting to the governing Board of the company, comprised of Local Authority members, this role carries responsibility for the efficient P&L leadership and management of the company’s activities commencing with formation and structural issues, then concentrating on efficient operations and the quality of delivery against agreed financial goals. You will also be expected to work closely with the Board in the development of forward strategy and planning for the integration and streamlining of activity to provide increasing levels of service. This set against a backdrop of changing requirements in a growing region with a mixed economy and demographics, including a strong self identity as well as commutability to the capital. Ideal candidates for this challenging role will already be well proven, commercially experienced business leaders at Managing Director level who could come from either public or private sector careers in mixed service delivery to Local Authorities. This could have arisen from Local Authority experience itself or, possibly, senior business leadership roles within a large private sector service provider in the B2B or B2C sectors. Of graduate calibre you will be able to demonstrate leadership ability across multi-functional teams and have the ability to communicate effectively and deliver organisational change across high headcount, unionised operations. You will also have a firm grasp and understanding of what world class service delivery looks like. This is a key role which offers tremendous scope to deliver on strategy and it includes also further development of growth through bringing in new business streams. The basic salary is supported by a broad ranging benefits package including relocation assistance and the appointed candidate will be expected to reside within the region.
