Working in Hampshire, the Business Development Manager will have responsibility to sell sub-enterprise level utilities solutions to regional and national brands. This includes services sold via straight business development, bid responses and account management with existing clients.

Our client is one of the Big Six, national energy companies and are listed on the FTSE 100. They work primarily with traditionally generated power, however their renewables commitment has been growing bigger and bigger over time. This is an area of focus for the immediate future.

Description

The Business Development Manager will have wide ranging duties including, but not limited to:

  • Achieving sales targets and other deliverables
  • Ensure that all administration and written documentation produced are to a high professional standard
  • Understand the implications of the market conditions and technical developments for the business within your target markets
  • Maintain knowledge of all products, solutions & services, key competitor offerings and regional developments
  • Accurate forecasting of new business opportunities & pipeline management
  • Develop, close and manage your pipeline successfully - both new business and account development
  • Work closely with the Regional Operations Head and Head of Business Development
  • Develop lasting relationships throughout your client's business to deliver to their needs
  • Introduce other business lines into your accounts to cross sell effectively

Profile

In order to apply for the Business Development Manager role, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Significant experience selling complex, business services solutions
  • Experienced new business hunter & account manager
  • Able to close sales in the £500K - £1.5M range
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience of sales forecasting, targeting and reporting
  • Have strong collaborative and strategic selling skills in to the B2B enterprise market
  • Had led major RFQ, RFI and RFP bid responses
  • Sales Force experience would be a bonus
  • Excellent presentation skills

Job Offer

Successful candidates will attract a base salary of £50,000 to £55,000 plus comms, car and health care
