Sharma Harrison have partnered with a rapidly expanding Group Business which employs over 7000 people across the UK. With ambitious expansion plans now firmly in place they are now looking to appoint a Qualified Group Finance Director to be based in Egham Head Office.
It is important that the ideal candidate will be looking for a long term position and be willing to adapat to this rapidly growing business. This role presents itself in a fast paced setting where by you are expected to work at speed and be able to work under pressure at times.
The Successful Candidate must be ACCA/ACA Qualified
Job Purpose:
The Finance Director will be responsible for heading up the finance department for the whole group with a direct line report into the Chief Executive with all financial and accounting activities. The ideal candidate will need to have managerial responsibility as well as oversee the financial department on a day to day basis.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage and Motivate the finance team
- Leading team in preparation of statutory accounts
- Regularly liaising with Leadership team
- Oversee all company accounts and investments
- Drive group profitability through cost control initiatives and identifying opportunities
- Create monthly annual reports to identify trends and financial forecasts
- Manage Cash Flow by tracking transactions
- Enjoys Process re engineering implement appropriate controls across group
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting system including payroll and invoicing
- Establish and implement financial Reporting system to comply with government regulations
- Develop Budgets and Financial plans
- Review all financial plans and budgets to look for cost reduction
- Monitor all financial reports checking for discrepancies
Skills and Qualification:
- MUST be ACCA Qualified
- Several years of experience in a business or finance environment
- A strategic thinker with conceptual understanding of company structures, taxation, legal matters and risk mitigation with a good understanding of data privacy standards
- Experience of preparation of statutory accounts
- Gravitas to be a key member of the leadership team
- Ability to lead the completion of legal transactions
- Highly effective negotiation skills developed through experience
- Solid management experience with excellent leadership skills
- Interpersonal skills - most essentially, honesty; integrity; reliability
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with precise attention to detail
- A very well organised person with a proven track record of:
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Research and analytical skill
- Proficient in all MS Office packages; Word, Excel etc.
