Head of Investment Management Technology Role: I am looking for an experienced IT Leader to take a senior role within a large, London based Hedge Fund. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality software solutions & services for the end to end investment management process. You will work closely with stakeholders facing off to multiple business & technology sponsors, to own the strategic vision, roadmap & delivery for the department, that includes front office, risk, compliance & operation functions. A key aspect of this role will be to manage and empower a number of development teams working in a dynamic & fast paced environment, to deliver against strategic initiatives, as well as take a leading role in exploring & driving innovation in collaboration with ongoing internal R&D. All teams within Technology follow an Agile methodology throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, and this role will be responsible for ensuring their team(s) are continually following appropriate methods and adhering to best practices, whilst also proposing improvements across the department. Key Skills Exceptional Technology Leader with track record of running teams of 40+, with proven team leading skills Coaching ability to manage & empower a management team to grow future leaders within an organisation Strong Financial Services business knowledge, in particular focused on investment mgmt processes within a multi-asset environment, preferably buy-side Exceptional relationship management skills focussing on both day to day delivery as well as building out longer term strategies to support a dynamic fast paced business Be seen as trusted technology partner with business product owners building strong relationships with key stakeholders Provide appropriate reporting to C-level and interested business partners Proactively manage risks and issues to ensure delivery plans are not impacted Identify opportunities for optimisation of business & technology processes and drive through agreed improvements Ability to manage a multi-dimensional portfolio of work with associated budget at a Programme level Strategic thinker with experience identifying & delivering on innovation within Financial Services industry Strong delivery focused approach with an eye on ensuring business value is being met A proponent of collaborative software engineering techniques and methods: agile development, continuous integration, code review or pairing, unit testing, refactoring and related approaches. Architectural appreciation - able to define good architectural principles & practices and embedding them within a delivery lifecycle Beneficial Skills Experience of programming, in particular Microsoft technologies such as C#, SQL Server Management of resources within a hybrid nearshore model using both internal & external teams to deliver on requirements.
