Interim IT Procurement Consultant

Eton Bridge Partners has successfully placed a number of highly skilled and experienced procurement transformation professionals in a range of FTSE 250 clients and due to demand from the market, is pleased to announce the launch of its own dedicated Operations, Procurement & Supply Chain practice.

We have an immediate need for a commercially astute IT procurement consultant with specific experience of contract renegotiations within a monopoly market and procurement function development within highly changing business environments; preferably PE backed businesses or the like.

The role will involve:

• Reviewing their contracts with a renowned software provider and renegotiating appropriate terms
• Engaging with the business to find opportunities for short, medium and long term cost savings and process improvements
• Engaging with suppliers to ensure strong strategic relations, adherence to terms and VfM
• Assessing the current processes, policies and contracts to identify quick wins and opportunities for strategic enhancement
• Acting as sole operational procurement professional whilst leading the recruitment for a fit-for-purpose procurement team
• Enhancing the perception of procurement internally and externally by engaging appropriately with stakeholders and the market
• Developing the procurement strategy and an implementation plan in a highly complex and changing environment

The successful candidate will:

• Have a strong track record of successfully engaging with the technology market and achieving best and most appropriate commercial terms for their client
•  Be a self-starter, preferably with Big 4 consultancy experience and essential track record in independent interim management previously
• Be accustomed to working with significant ambiguity and creating clarity and succinct plans from little initial detail
• Be able to evidence their successful partnerships with commercial CIOs
• Have experience of turning around failing IT procurement functions, or creating right sized procurement functions from scratch
• Have excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills with evidence of improving tense relations
• Have the ability and lack of ego to work at tactical and strategic procurement levels simultaneously
