Job Details
Oxford Direct Services is a wholly owned social enterprise of Oxford City Council. Already a £50 million turnover business, we provide a wide range of services to the City’s residents and businesses, from repairs and maintenance to recycling and waste management and general civil engineering. Our business model ensures that our success impacts directly on the quality of life enjoyed by our City’s residents, as our surpluses are returned to the Council to protect front line services. We are now strengthening and diversifying our board with the appointment of a cadre of Non-Executive Directors.
As our young business continues to develop, acquiring new clients and becoming an increasingly significant market presence, it is essential that we have in place the right governance to drive and underpin our growth. We are looking for experienced business leaders to provide independent oversight and constructive challenge to the leadership team and use their professional expertise and experience to help drive Oxford Direct Services to even greater success.
It is important that our board is balanced in terms of skill set, professional background and diversity. We are particularly interested in people with a background in leadership within the construction or buildings maintenance sectors. Expertise in financial management, organisational development and/or business transformation and growth will be particularly welcomed.

By helping ensure our Board is as effective as possible and through providing excellent advice, support and challenge to our leadership team, you will help us accelerate our growth, improve efficiency and ensure we retain our reputation for high quality services.
