Job Details

Our client, a medium-sized Housing Association, is looking for an interim Head of Finance to support them during a critical period. To start ASAP for a 6 month assignment.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for providing a proactive and responsive financial service to the Group, supporting it in achieving financial targets. To manage a vibrant finance team in terms of reporting, budgeting and day to day transactions and closely managing short term cash flows, the business plan and funders contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Previously worked in a Housing Association
  • Ability to generate reports from substantial amounts of data
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and work well under pressure
  • Ability to use complex modelling tools to generate the long-term business plan
  • Knowledge and use of the BRIXX modelling software package (desirable)
  • Reviewing and managing the performance of direct and indirect reports

Required Demonstrable Experience:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW)
  • Producing year-end accounts and monthly management accounts
  • Generating an annual budget
  • Treasury control
  • Preparing a long-term business plan
  • Stress testing and scenario analysis of business plans within a housing or commercial business
  • Dealing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including the Senior Management Team, Executive Team, Funding Committee, Board, internal and external auditors, tax advisors, day to day bankers, lenders, treasury advice consultants, HCA via NROSH+
