The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the management, governance and integration of a planning and production controls organisation across a business with revenues of over £1.3bn and circa. 3,000 employees.
A key leadership and stakeholder influencing position, which will impact the roles of a large team of Project Managers and Planners, your role is to ensure the necessary checks and balances are in place across planning and production - enabling manufacturing projects to be delivered on time.
Driving the business to an ERP controlled environment, you will promote and embed a continuous improvement culture within the planning and production controls function. You will have responsibility for system development, MRP control and governance, to allow the programmes to develop plans and produce production planning and control information and analysis.
The Person
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of engineering leadership experience within the Aerospace and Defence sector, or relevant complex high-tech engineering markets - such as Nuclear, Vehicle Manufacture (on and off-highway) Rail, Materials Handling and Capital Equipment markets.
You will be adept at providing inspirational direction to a culturally diverse group of project managers and planners working on major programme delivery in a time-sensitive, safety-critical, and complex engineering environment. Your attributes will include:

- Ideally a breadth of experience across the lifecycle of engineering, such as design, production and customer support
- Degree in Operations Management or Project Management and relevant professional qualifications
