Senior Actuary - Head of Fund Transformation

The main purpose is to lead the strategic fund transformation & delivery programmes to ensure that its constituent projects are developed, managed and delivered successfully, enabling the significant business benefits to be realized, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop options, recommendations and business cases for Fund transformation and delivery to achieve vision including sub-fund mergers, GAR compromise schemes and other transformation fund activity
  • Engage & harness skillsets of wider finance and actuarial colleagues to set out the financial and capital implications of fund transformation and the recommended way forward
  • Be able to communicate technical concepts to senior stakeholders and FCA/PRA to influence and ensure buy in to proposed approach
  • Oversee customer facing activity required and be able to ensure translation of technical concepts to customer friendly language and ensure customers are suitably informed of implications
  • Provide day to day Divisional leadership for the complex fund mergers on behalf of the Divisional Director
  • Oversee Programme Managers to ensure the effective co-ordination of planning, monitoring, reporting and assurance activities in accordance with agreed standards
  • Ensure risks to programme delivery and desired business outcomes are identified and appropriate actions taken
  • Work with relevant leads to ensure the Fund Transformation programme enhances customer outcomes and experience and delivers all business outcomes expected

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Senior Actuary (ie FIA or FFA) with a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience.
  • High level of knowledge of actuarial and financial maths commensurate with the nature and complexity of the work.
  • Highly proficient in use of relevant computer systems and packages.
  • Highly developed communication skills, verbal, written and listening.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with lawyers, senior managers, boards and committees across the department and the wider business and to third parties and external bodies.
